How do you help a heroin addict?
I have a brother that can't seem to kick the habit and gets into trouble with the law. He hangs with the wrong crowd. He is in his late twenties so you would think he'd wisen up by now. Would prescription psychiatric medication help since he seems to have underlying depression and anxiety....maybe even being bipolar.

I can't take opioid medication but my sister is a heroin addict. Why is that?
I cannot take opioid pain medication because it makes me vomit. My sister is a heroin addict, so obviously she doesn't react to it the same way I do. How come two sisters from the same parents physically handle medications so differently?

Is a heroin addict doomed to a certain fate of death or jail?
What's the likeliness that they can still live a decent life if they try to stop?

Can I pretend to be a heroin addict, so I can reap the benefits they get?

Is it feasible that an experienced introvenous heroin addict could over-dose and die?
This is for a story I am writing.I presume they wrpa something around an arm, find a vein, put the needle in and push the plunger down.Then what?They feel ectasy? Can they talk?In the story the person feels the rush quickly, but is able to walk over to someone and chat to them briefly but five minutes later they collapse and fall unconscious. 20 minutes later they die. I'd like to know how to get through to a meth and heroin addict, so that I might help them?
I never used anything myself, but I fell in love with a woman who suffers from serious addictions to the above and more. Of course I didn't know all this at the time. Meth and oxycontin are her favorites though. Anyway, like any drug addict she used me up in every way, then went back to her junkie ex and began to slander me to the world, eventually cutting contact outright. She's since burned every bridge with everyone she knows and is effectively homeless with her fellow junkie and her kids.I do know that she wants to be clean but after a decade and a half of using, she simply can't do it without the right kind of help. Before anything, I need advice on getting through to her. If I can manage that, I'll need to know how best to help her.P.S. I do want her back but not before she's been clean and single for at least a year. There's a lot of damage there and doing what can be done to fix that comes first. I just want to help the woman I love.

I am a recovering heroin addict i have been clean for almost 3 months and i want to use again..?
I feel extremely bored with myself and life and feel like mixing it up and getting high..i have been through this for 3 years on and off and it always starts out like this..i feel like going to get high for a night and jump back on the wagon even though i know i will regret it.. is this normal to feel this way..i have money and i really feel like fucking up..

she has a 3 year old as well . she uses alot all day and drives high with my neice. she also comes to family function high . she has been to rehab but left at 14 days and used right away . her husband is a user too and it makes me sick that my neice has to have parents like that. helpright robert i need them split up for good . her to go to rehad and me to get the kid if only it were that easythanks everyone . i went and took the chils without calling cps. they actually didnt ut up much of a fight go figure .

How to deal with a 3 year old who's Mom is a heroin addict.?
My 30 year old niece gave birth to her first babies, twins, one year ago. She is a wonderful, loving Mom. A few weeks ago she took custody of her 3 yo niece as her Sister is a serious heroin addict. Of course the poor little girl was neglected and mistreated. Her addicted Mother kept that a big secret and stayed away from all of us, but we found out and got the baby out of a horrific situation with a bone deep diaper " rash." Now the child is living with the two babies and my niece and her husband and is acting out constantly.Violent towards the babies etc. I know some of it is her age but she has also been dragged from place to place all of her short life and has had no structure or consistency. It is wearing on the young family and I would just like to get some ideas about what to do for the kid and maybe some suggestions on where my niece can get some support. The rest of the family is of no help except to criticize.

Do heroin addicts get scared while watching horror movies?
I heard that heroin makes you have an adrenaline rush and over time you stop having adrenaline rushes unless you use heroin. So I'm wondering if someone can be afraid and have an adrenaline rush if they're addicted to heroin.

Where to start to help a heroin addict get clean?
I'm looking for resources for help for a 23 year old uninsured heroin addict. Intensive outpatient program s in Wisconsin. If we can't find professional help...we may need to try to help her ourselves...but I'm not sure we are medically qualified to handle the withdrawals. Information on the withdrawal process, symptoms, remedies, natural symptom relief would be helpful. Your knowledge and experience if you've gone through a similar event would be welcome.

My cousin is believed to have MRSA. Is it fatal? also is a heroin addict.?
My cousin has been out of control for two yrs now. Has been eliminated from family and living now as a drifter in abandon houses all due to heroin. No one really talks to her anymore including myself because of this. It's sad because she is only 27 and is on her way to a slow death. Also, we believe she has mrsa . word is that she has soars all over her stomach but refuses to go to the hospital. She wont go because she will not have access to heroin. Will she die from this ?
