I am a suppressant or and heroin addict (i suppose).What can I do?Please,no offensive answers,im oversensitive?
I hated depressants. I tried heroin at 21, i am 26.I never drove off the board, i always snorted it. Occasionally i swallow several pam pills. Lexotanil, xanax etc, but never combine them with H. I get stuck when I am in my home city but when I leave to the other city I live I am a different person. However whenever Iget back to motherland the first thing I do is to snort some H. It feels so nice that I cant avoid it. Then I leave again and I go on with my normal life. In other words, i flert with H for some days and then leave for some months and become a human being again. I had once or twice suffered from cold turkey. H is always in my mind though. That feeling... How can I get rid of it? Please answer only if you have something essential to say from experience, and dont bother to answer if you never tried H. I feel terrified in a way Thank you.

For any dual diagnosis bipolar plus heroin addicts out there?
We have a family member that is struggling with a " dual diagnosis" bipolar disorder and substance addiction. Drug of choice is Heroin, but will take whatever is available. As members of this person's concerned family we'd like to know from somebody who had the same problem what helped you? This person is a late aged teenager, has been through multiple residential rehabs months in duration , only to return to home to intensive outpatient, psychiatrist and personal counselor support, along with NA meetings and do it all again. All of us in the family are ready to get off this roller coaster of horror and the parents are ready to withdraw all support and let this young adult sink or swim on her own, as they've exhausted the family finances and fear for the rest of the families' safety. This is a nice middle class educated family, not abusive nor others in the immediate family with addiction issues. If you have been this teenager and are currently doing well, we'd love to hear from you while we know every situation is different, we're out of ideas. Honest and sincere suggestions would be deeply appreciated.18 years and we'd love to have court initiated treatment although currently in residential yet again by their own choice but this person, when clean and even when using, is very intelligent and can speak quite logically to the court. No way to gain control because if incompetence...and we've tried the police and they can't help either. They said " it's illegal to possess drugs but not to take them" so if they " only" find her high, there's nothing they can do. Jail would be a relief to all of us, but this person has never been caught. We've been in the group support for the past year, but not currently. We're kind of burned on on teaching tough love to the new folks and regardless of how tough we all are, she's not better. I fear this person has lost the ability to live at the parents' home and none of the rest of us will volunteer our home. We know what would happen. Robbed blind and drug dealers coming to the house.
Why do heroin addicts crave orange juice?
I work at an A& D facility and have wondered what it is about orange juice that makes heroin and other opioid dependants crave it.

17 year old Daughter denies being a heroin addict ( i have proven otherwise)?
My 17 year old daughter was taken into hospital for injection heroin for the first time and overdosing accidental the hospital rang me to tell me what had happened...She admitted to me that she had been smoking it for the last month, also smoking crack cocaine. When she came home i wouldn't let her out of my side i actually forbidden her to leave the house.Anyway i decided i needed a break and i asked her to move in with her dad, he is at work most of the time so he isn't around, so she is going out here there and everywhere he is also giving her money which i told him not too as she was buying heroin for just 5.00 a hit she told me .. Anyway i went round to check in her room and i found foil that was burnt and there was wraps of clingfilm on the floor. i even found a wrap with heroin still in that she had left. I know before she moved into her dads her uncle lived there he was also on heroin so she is telling me its what he had left and it is not hers. But her apperance is awful she is full of spots and rashes kind of thing on her face. she seems to be abit " dozy" and her eyes are very glazed and her pupils are either really large or really small, never normal.Don't know where to turn anymore, i love her to bits, she is attending a programme to get clean but her appointment is not untill next wednesday so in the mean time she will obviously be doing drugs as they havent given her a methadone script yet.She is doing nothing but lie but is denying being an addict. whats your advice?
Is it possible for a heroin addict to still function day to day?
I am doing a business deal with a professional person who I believe just now realized could be an addict. Dont know this person well enough to know how long this may have been going on. They seem to function fairly well and act normally accept for a few subtle signs I took notice of. What should I watch out for to protect myself?
What to do with heroin addicted loved one?
My boyfriend has been doing heroin off and on for a year. He's been lying to everyone and continuing to use. I gave him the ultimatum today, rehab or never speak to me again... He didn't choose rehab. His brother, who he lives with has cut him off, I have cut him off, all of his friends that aren't using have cut him off, but his parents continue to support him by paying for his cell phone, car, insurance, rent, school tuition and paycheck. We have all gone to them, pleading that they cut him off, as they are the last support system he has that is letting him continue to use. They refuse and say that it is their responsibility to pay for all of his things and are admitting that he is using heroin but that he needs to figure out how to quit himself. What do you suggest the people who care about him do? I have already cut him off and refuse to speak with him, I have pleaded with his parents to quit enabling and they continue to do so? Is there any other choice or just move on with my life?
What is it like to be a heroin addict?
What is it like to be a heroin addict? Not me I just have to do an oral interpretation of " Smack" by Melvin Burgess. I want to convey the emotions of the main character as best as I can, please help out? What goes through the mind of a heroin addict, what goes through the mind when one takes it in, and how does it make you feel? Also what are the withdrawal symptoms?
My friend is a heroin addict?
I have a friend whom I have fought endlessly trying to make him to quit heroin. I now discovered that he has been shooting himself with a needle for the last 3 months. If I, along with his parents, manage to force him to stop taking anything, how long should he not be taking anything until he no longer craves for heroin? your answers will surely give me some clues on how to force him to quit whether he likes it or not. thanks
Are my friends heroin addicts? (I'm serious)?
So my night started out with two friends that I see a lot. We then had some people over that we hadn't seen in a year. Once we invited them over one of them asked to use the bathroom. Her boy friend then said he needed to use it after. So both of them went down stairs and used the bathroom. Then the last one went down stairs to use the bathroom too. They stayed for a bit, smoked a bowl, and then one of them went down to use the bathroom again. The three of them left and we thought they had to be doing heroin and not cocaine because they would be sniffing a lot. If they are heroin addicts do they usually have herpes because we are now in fear that when we smoked with them we may have contracted the herps.
