Would it be realistic, if a character in a movie was given large although not large enough to kill doses of heroin over a few days, or up to a week, would that cause a heroin addiction? Or does heroin addictions, like we see in movies, take longer to build?

I would really like it if someone who has actually suffered from this horrible addiction could offer their advice, but any is fine.My best friend, who has already a destructive personality he's gay, very intimidating, stubborn, extremely independent, headstrong, easily depressed,pessimistic, has a lot of time on his hands etc. just recently picked up heroin again he has in the past but got over it . Ive tried talking to him about it briefly and he says that he really has nothing to live for anyway and he's happier this way so let him be, and to not worry about him. But naturally I do. I want what makes him happy since it's few and far between, but I cant just stand around waiting for him to over dose or something awful. It's already hard enough being around his " shell" . He is socially withdrawn, sometimes really mean, keeps himself isolated, barely speaks etc. Can someone please help me by offering the right ways of approaching someone with his personality type? I feel like I'm loosing him. PLEASE HELP.

Can heroin addiction interfere with a woman's period?
my girlfriend has been using heroin intravenously for about 7 months and has stopped having her period for about the last 3 to 4 months almost. She has even taken a pregnancy test that came up negative which makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the heroin. I'm madl in love with this guy and vice versa. He's the most sweet perfect person in the world. he's beautiful and nice and smart. He a psychadellic rock musician. I LOVE his music. it's beautiful. he is oe of those artsy guys who has the crazy messed up hair and sits aroud wriig songs and paiting.He had a pretty tough ime growig up. lets just say he's been abandoned many time. He's been sufferig a really bad heroin addiction.He wans to sop so bad but he's clinically depressed and has been to rehab but is strugglig. we live together and when he is high he doesn't really talk and if i try to talk to him he gets kinda mad. but when he's sober he tells my he loves me and treats me great and is the most amazing guy once he even broke down cryig saying he has to quite and he doesn't want to loose me. I don't want to loose him I love him so much what should I do?

I am clean from heroin and now on suboxone. Is their any negative part of taking it besides the fact that it is hard to stop ? it makes me feel much better and helps more than any anti depressant i was ever on ...................

my dad died, because of a heroin addiction. he had an overdosei don't know much about the topic, and ive researched a little, but i cant really grasp the full picture,i was wondering if anyone could tell me what happens, in a heroin overdose, i saw a horrible picture of a drug overdose victim r.i.p , her body was red and blue and white. please, give me some idea, i want to know what happened, etc. i don't really know exactly. what would his body have done, are you in pain, what exactly happens? if anyone knows anything then please, give me some sort of idea.thank youx

heroin addicts who are willingly trying to get off, or more usually being forced off one way or another are prescribed Crystal methadone LEGALLY in Ireland by medics, Im not sure of the procedure outside the country, its irrelevant anyway to me... Crystal meth is a highly addictive drug....now there after developing a new drug, dextroamphetamine....to help heroin addicts who were given Crystal meth to get off the heroin in the first place, to get them off the crystal meth..... I think its a huge waste of resources, time, research and life Because people are dying inevitably daily from the addiction to pass addicts from one addiction to the other, while there not solving the problem of addiction....merely prolonging it and worsening it ?? Is it just me that thinks this?? ok and i dont want one worded answers....unless there not from idiots here we have both, but crystal meth is more common.see smart ppl like OPC Are actually educating me thanks im too tired for this I need bed just post anything else you know cos im confusing myself
