Heroin Addiction: Methadone Detox Facts

Question: Heroin addiction...crystal meth....dextroamphetamine?

Heroin addicts who are willingly trying to get off, or more usually being forced off one way or another are prescribed Crystal methadone LEGALLY in Ireland by medics, (Im not sure of the procedure outside the country, its irrelevant anyway to me...) Crystal meth is a highly addictive drug....now there after developing a new drug, dextroamphetamine....to help heroin addicts who were given Crystal meth to get off the heroin in the first place, to get them off the crystal meth..... I think its a huge waste of resources, time, research and life (Because people are dying inevitably daily from the addiction) to pass addicts from one addiction to the other, while there not solving the problem of addiction....merely prolonging it and worsening it!!?? Is it just me that thinks this??!! ok and i dont want one worded answers....unless there not from idiots!! here we have both, but crystal meth is more common. see smart ppl like OPC Are actually educating me (thanks!!) im too tired for this! =( I need bed! just post anything else you know cos im confusing myself!

Methadone and Crystal Meth are two completely different things. No one gets Crystal Meth for coming off herion, meth is an amphetamine, a stimulant. It wouldn't help much with heroin withdrawal. Methadone is addictive too, but it's easier to come off of than heroin. And it's always given in a supervised fashion, so it can't be sold or stockpiled.

Lol i'm 99.9% sure you are confused their is crystal methamphetamine and their is methadone they do prescribe methadone to heroin addicts but nobody prescribes crystal meth all that is is meth (which can be prescribed) and they take the powder form and then rock it up into a shard that looks like a piece of glass

Yes you are confusing meth for methadone. and it IS trading one addiction for another pretty much unless you watch yourself. i've seen this happen to many people. methadone withdrawal is much worse than a heroin withdrawal. some people may argue with me, but i'm not the only one who thinks this. its because they last up to a month long, when heroin only a week or less (but more intense). been there and done that. Anyways, I think doctors should perscribe Suboxone before methadone... It's helped more people. Plus, if you have no tolerance, methadone can and will mess you up (fuck you up)

You are right. The crystal meth idea is lunacy. I think you might find the articles below very interesting reading. There is a much better alternative available that authorities are trying to hide. Read and be amazed. I'm a medical scientist and have assessed the data from the clinical research and it is real. Best wishes.

Ummmm....crystal methadone? I think you're thinking of the drug methadone lol. Crystal meth is a street name for the drug methamphetamine, which is way different then methadone. While methamphetamine is a stimulant that increases heart rate, etc. methadone is an opioid (a synthetic drug engineered to mimic opiates, which are drugs derived from the opium in a poppy plant), which is used to wean people off of heroin because heroin is an opiate so they administer the methadone almost as a placebo in order to trick the body into easing off of the physical dependence. Anyways, I've never heard anything about what you're talking about in Ireland, I was just thrown off by the whole "Crystal Methadone " thing lol.
