Question: Has heroin addiction left you empty?

I've kicked my painkiller addiction, I am completely sober, but I'm not even human anymore. I feel more like a zombie who simply exists but has no emotions and connection. I haven't had a girlfriend in 9 years nor do I really want any friends. All I think about is using again, and although I don't, I think my life is worse now without drugs. How do any of you who have kicked addiction live your life now?

I'm a recovering meth addict. I used meth for 6 years & it completly took over my life. After I quit using, I felt the same way you do. Lost & not normal without it. But you get over it,you really do. Start living your life instead of thinking about drugs, even though it is hard to do.it will go away. You have to get 'yourself' back. your life is better without the drug and the longer you are not using the more you will see that.

I'm a recovering crack addict. I used to do horrible things to get my hands on crack. I'd get paid to punch pregnant women in the vagina. Everyday i wake up and see the babies i have killed. What the hell should i do? I can't sleep at night, not because of the disgust, but because i have the power to kill life before its created.
