I saw a show once where they taught people withdrawing from drugs biofeedback to manage the symptoms-something they do for people with chronic illnesses and/ or pain. You could check that out.

Your probably are going to role your eyes... but God and praying is the only way. Seriously... just pray. Doesn't matter if you are Christian or not. You obviously want to quit... so God will help ya!

First off, congrats on trying to get and stay clean, this is a huge step that a lot of people don't have the strength to make, adding bonus for trying to do it with out drugs, the only suggestion i have is to have something with you that you can have when you get a strong urge, when my grandpa stop smoking, he kept carrots around that he would snack on instead, it seemed to work with him, i know there is a huge gap between cigarettes and heroin but this is all i can come up with, good luck and best wishes P.S. Im pretty sure there isnt a easy way to get through it, if there was, there would be a lot less crack heads running around, this is just your bodys way of telling you want you did was wrong

There is no easy way to get through heroin withdrawals. I saw someone go through it and it's not pretty. You just have to tough it out, it's going to be pretty ugly and painful and if you don't think you can do it yourself then check in to a rehab place that will help you.

I was a drug addict for years and I am still recovering( 2 years later because you never really recover) and the only I could deal with the withdrawals was to do something to get my mind off of it, like reading a book, going to sleep, playing sports...etc. It is very hard to go through and even harder if you are alone. I wasn't/ ain't alone in my process, I have a great man that's helped me out. There are times that I am still tempted to do things, but praying helps me too. Be strong, say no to your temptations, trust me it is better in the long run! Congratulations and and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

Just get rid of the source, wherever it is. Fill up your day with other activities, so you're not lying around bored all the time. even if you think it sucks, it might be helping. if you really don't want drugs, try seeing a therapist or someone. he/ she can give you things to work on and goals to try for. reward yourself every now and then with a big ice cream sundae, a day where you just wander around a nature reserve, a picnic lunch, walking your dog for an extra couple of miles. music really does help, so does journaling. it doesn't have to be diary entries; you can write song lyrics, stories, poems, whatever you want. it just helps to clear your head sometimes. movies are also a big help. try some of the motivational or feel-good movies. try About a Boy, The Pursuit of Happyness, Lord of the Rings, A Few Good Men, okay, i threw in some of my favorites. good luck and don't stop= )
