How is a methadone clinic legally operated. I know several young adults that go to a methadone clinic, and none of them ever get any better. Nobody else at the clinic ever gets better either. They pay nearly 500 dollars a month to get high legally. They have no set plan to ween you off. They allow you to stay there as long as you want. If you fail multiple drug tests they continue to let you come. This is absolutely insane that this is allowed by the government. I guarantee you the success rate of a methadone clinic is less than 2 %. Sure people are not doing heroin anymore, but they are doing methadone which basically does the same thing. The people I know stay high on their dosage, and come home and try to find more and more. Everyone I know that goes to that place is getting no better. Nobody that they know that goes to that place is getting any better. If you type methadone in yahoo answers, you find a bunch of addicts trying to figure out how to get more, how to sneak it out, if I take this with my methadone will I be ok, how often do they have drug tests at the clinic because I want to get high on something else too. It's crazy that no one has made this an issue. I don't think most of the general population realize this is going on. People try to argue that this is junkies trying to get better, when actually it's junkies trying to get high without having to worry about a jail sentence.

im starting tomorrow morning and i had a few questions. first off how does the dosage start? like how are they going to know how much to give me? and why do i have to be there soo long my first day? and if i did oxycontin the night before around 8 pm and i go in at 6am are they going to give it to me or not? because i didnt know if mixing them was lethal or anything??? and also do i take home my dosage for saturday and sunday?

HELP! I am a vicodin addict am starting a methadone clinic.?
i have been on klonopin for about 5 years. in order to be in the clinic i s had to stop cold turkey 6 days ago. I am sooooo sick. ive never been this sick in my entire life. im having skipped heart beats,sweats,shocks,tunnel vision..... it just goes on and on. im no stranger to pain or anxiety ive been getting blood clots for 18 years, thats why i started the vicodin. i have no excuse why i abused it. it didnt work as well, i was getting 240 a month 10 325s. i told my doctor i wanted to stop. then i had to resort to buying off the street. i feel i am a piece of crap and methadone is my only chance at a real life. im also scared to death about what ive read about it. if anyone could give me some advice,, when is the hell from klonopin going to end havent slept in 4 days by the way or anything about the clinic id be so grateful. will they let me start with benzos in my drug test from a week ago? please answer... shawn

Ok I have been going to the methadone clinic for 2 1 2 years now. I've been really depressed because it has made me gain weight real bad. I know it's the methadone cuz I hardly eat. I weighed 140 when I started and I now weigh 175. It has wreaked my sex life with my husband. He thinks I am out cheating but I am too ashamed of my body and have no desire to have sex. He is also on it and has only gained 5lbs. He's been on it the same amount of time as me. I am going to start to decrease my dose this week. I am at 100mg. My question is will I start to loose the weight once I ween off of this? This has really been making me sad. I don't want to go anywhere. I wear baggy clothing now and I use to wear cute, tight clothes. It seems I am gaining 5lbs a week. Can anyone help me? Does anyone have the same situation? Please let me know. Thank you.

Out of Suboxone, might try Methadone Clinic- any ideas?
Was addicted to all sorts of opiates over the last few years. Switched to suboxone a year ago and have been gradually weening down. I started with 5 now I am down to 3. I have lost so much money from them so expensive I had medicaid in Ny and just moved to FLorida. Will be some time before I set up insurance. What can I do now that I have no pills and no way to pay for my script at the pharmacy. What can I take thats cheaper possible or any ideas? If I try methadone clinic, would have to wait until Tuesday for my first dose.

Methadone clinic next door?
Before anyone posts that I already asked this question, I know, I want more answers. Before I got a lot of people who said I was making an uneducated judgment about it. So let me clarify I moved to the area I'm in because I wanted to get away from all the crap. The area I live in is not rampant with heroin users. The clinic was put in for the people in the inner city, so why can't the clinic be where they are? I know that the people going to the clinic are " rehabilitating" But I have knowen many heroin users and from my experience, they may be trying to rehabilitate today and not tom arrow. How do you know that they aren't using still, even while going to the clinic? And how do you know that those people aren't into some even more destructive habits? I'm just saying that I don't want all of this right in my yard. I share a parking lot with the clinic now, they just opened last week All you can hear are people cussing and hanging out in the parking lot. It's annoying. And I'm sorry to say, I don't trust these people. That may sound judgmental, but it's not me using the needles. So I guess even if it is judgmental, I don't care. I have 4 children to look out for, not the heroin addicts. I don't care if their feelings are hurt. My family comes first. I just don't feel right letting my kids outside to play right next to where these users are going. And I understand that they are going there for help. But I also understand that not all of them are really on the road to recovery. I have knowen people that use and when they run out they go to the clinics. I have heard of people shooting up just before they go in. I don't need that here. Everyone acts like I'm an awful person because I don't want to give the recovering addicts a chance, but would you take the chance when it's your family? I just wanted to know how everyone else would feel if a methadone clinic moved into your back yard? And is there anything I can do to get it relocated?
