In particular pain killer addiction (opiate). I was doing them for about 2 years on and off. I was making (still am) good money and was able to pay the bills . I want to quit, I have told everyone in my immediate family about my addiction, especially my wife she found out the hard way. I AM going to beat this, I WILL BEAT THIS ADDICTION. I dont want to see anyone suffer anymore about this. I am beginning to put more self confidence and respect for myself. I love myself. i LOVE MY WIFE. I will NEVER go back to this addiction because i know what is more important in my life I dont want people to respond with bashing or putting me down. I'm making this public because i am not ashaimed of this and i KNOW i can beat it! please give me advice. I've finally seen the light and let the lord into my heart. He has forgiven all my sins, i am now a christian. The lord has lifted all my burdens and filled my heart with love and joy. Thanks to all who responded, the lord has taken care of my problems, and helped me start a new life as one of his children. God Bless you all! |

Well i applaud you to be so honest with us on yahoo answers. Your first step is to admit you dont wanna live your life like this anymore. In order to beat any addiction you must stay away from friends or anyone who has acess to these drugs. Keep yourself busy > know what ya want from life and stay away from those things. |

One day at a time..and you will need support. Join a AA..or NA group, look for one in your area..its free.Make as many meetings as you can .You need to share with people who have been down that road.GOOD LUCK |

How long have you been clean? One day? One year? don't know what area of the country that you live in, but if you live near one of the larger cities and have insurance, do the suboxone treatment. it's pain free withdrawal. Look in the yellow pages for physicians; If you don't have insurance, go to a ten step meeting. And keep going back. You might meet some worthwhile people there that you can associate with. DO Not hang around people who are using! Going to NA, or any support group is worth it's weight in gold. These people know where you coming from. DO Not hang around those who are there because it's court ordered. I had a patient a few yrs. ago (70 yrs) who was on hydrocodone. Like 4-5 doctors a week. He could afford it for about a yr before he went thru $50,00. I put him on the Suboxone program about 5 yrs. ago and it was very sucessful. Remember, the physical addiction is over in 2-3 days. It's the psychological addiction that is so hard to break. Good luck and let me know how you are doing. it's a very courageous thing to finally come to terms with it Get going. It's never too late s |

Hey brother, i was where you were at about 3 1/ 2 years ago. For me and the people that I know, if you are addicted as we were, we needed a medical detox. I don't know what extent that your using is, but there can be a tremendous amount of pain to try to get off that stuff cold turkey. On top of that, they say there can be medical concerns. My best recommendation, based on my experience would be for you to at least check out a detox facility. If you are able, do a full treatment if you can. Trust me, you will feel so much better after this and you can then return to the happy life that you want to live - free from drugs. Don't get down on yourself. Literally millions of people go through what you are going through. Unfortunately, not all of them look for a solution like you are. Great job on your love for your self and your family. I have put in a link below to a place where you can look up a lot of places and just call them. It doesn't cost anything to call these places and just do a confidential assessment over the telephone. May God bless you! |

Try something called 'Salvia Dinorum' It soppusedly helps with addiction to hard drugs especially opiates. I have used it before it works wonders, and it's a plant (like marijuana) except it's legal. |
