The docter cant notify the police if thats what your thinking. you will most likly be given the names of a few rehab facilities/ detox clinics and some support groups. its likely some notice stating your addiction will be put on your medical records so that you are no longer prescribed opiates. |

You tell the doctor. He/ She might refer you to a specialist in addiction medicine. If you need to be separated from your environment, they might suggest rehab, but that's up to you. Not all rehabs are live-in, that's a ridiculous celebrity phenomenon really. They might put you on some antidepressants or something to ease the side effects of withdrawal. I know it can be painful and quitting cold turkey is often not recommended among opiate users. |

Go to a local emergency department or crisis center, because the likely hood of you needing detoxed is high and that's what you will be instructed to do anyway. You may also get referred to chemical dependancy treatment, and if you are my advice if you insurace will cover is do it. It will save your life. |

He/ she might suggest methadone. Also possibly NA (narcotics anonymous) or rehab because detoxing from opiates can be extremely dangerous. But he can't make you do anything and he can't tell anybody (doctor patient privilege). My advice is to go and see what he says. You have to want to change to get better, and asking for help is the first step. Good luck. |

They will assess you and put you in a rehab center for chemical detox.Standard procedure for opiate addiction. Then a rehab out patient to help you not begin using again.Good luck.Try to stay away from methadone as that is addicting too. |
