Please Help! Advice Desperately needed regarding benzodiazepam usage for an urgent opiate detox/withdrawal?
I have to next week begin a very nasty opiate detox withdrawal, it is and has got very serious, the Doctor has given me some medication to use while coming off on a very short sharp 2 week plan I will leave out the medical details and reasons for why it has to be like this, an just concentrate on the question , i have been given gabapentin, tramadol, temazepam, propranolol,The problem and thus my question is The temazepam does nothing for me and just gives me a horrible hangover in the morning if i do manage to fall asleep, not a tollerance problem Doctor wont change it for various reasons, So Please if there is any Benzodiazepam experts or people with any high short sharp withdrawal experiance out there, Please advise me regards the following choice I have access to use one of the 2 following meds, generic nitrazepam or generic lorazepam, i dont know much about either, which ever one i use needs to replace the temazepam for just that 2 week period, doing the same job as, getting me to sleep and keeping me asleep for a good 8 hours if possibleI hope i am not breaking any rules or offending anyone with this question, I am just trying to listen to some 3rd party advice other than that of my doctor for a 2 week period of time which i am absolutely terrified about... And PLEASE NO answers saying cold turkey or use nothing even the Doctor has said this would be extremely serious, as it is it will be exasibating an under laying neaurological problem, so quite serious, Ultimately i am putting this question out there for anyone with any experiance of withdrawal for any moral support, tips , hints ect, before it starts i will be seeing a second doctor for some more clarification and proffessional adviceI will be doing a lot of Praying...Thank you for your timeAnd please, No mocking, jeering, unfounded unexperienced answers, I'm pretty scared as it is, I know I have done it to my self ultimately and theres a lot more medical info that i have not includedThanksThank you

I'm going to a rehab detox tomorrow, and was wondering what they do for you. I'm on 125 mcg of Fentanyl every 2 days. I've been on this for 3 years. I've tried weeing myself off, but it didn't work. Lately I've been using to much, and not having any at the end of the month. I need professional help. I just would like to know what they do for people like me, thanks. Andrew

Question for those who've gone to opiate detox?
I'm ready to go to detox, but I'm a little nervous. I was just wanting to know from others who've been there, what's it like? How long did you stay? And what did they do for you there? I don't wanna go cold turkey, which is why I'm going to detox and not just doing it at home

I really hope I get some serious answers because right now I don't know what to do, I'm going crazy Okay, so long story short, 3 years ago I had kidney surgery and I'm still taking pain pills I have tried to quit a few times, but after about the 5th or 6th day of being in hell I have to get something I have tried methadones, but that just made it worse I'm going to see a doctor about suboxen next week, but I wanted to see if anyone knew of anything I could do at home right now to help I have tried the hot baths, the Tylenol, the heat pads and ice packs, I have been trying to drink lots of water, but I can't hold anything down I have tried sleeping pills to sleep and that doesn't work.. I can't eat, sleep, relax, stop shaking.. I just can't function Oh, and my eyes hurt if I'm outside Even with sunglasses on it just seems so bright I hate this, this is the reason why I have been on the pain meds for so long I can't go through this Any advice would be wonderful I have tried the methadones and now that's one of the things I have been doing on a daily basis The methadone clinics don't want to help .. They start you off with a small amount and give you more and more and more I am going to try Suboxen, but I have to make it through for a couple days until I can get to the doctor. I don't know if I can do this I want to be done so bad, but I have never had a detox like this I'm beyond miserable Update.. I have my doctors appointment tomorrow to get the suboxens, but like I said, I have been beyond miserable I really, really, really just want to be done with this crap, so I didn't want to buy anything off of the streets, but then a friend of mine told me that he had a few Suboxens left from the last time he went to the doctor and he gave me those So, I feel a million times better and I'm on the right path I'm so excited, kind of nervous, but just really happy that I'm getting off of this crap Thanks so much for the help and the nice posts
