Question: Does klonopin help with opiate withdrawals?

I was wondering, because my doc said that he was going to put me on klonopin to help me with my opiate withdrawals and he wouldn't give me soboxone because im under 18.. which i will be 18 in 3 weeks..will klonopin help with my opiate withdrawls?

Its a sedative so it will help with some of the withdrawal symptoms

It will help you to get to sleep, and relax you. It will certainly be good to have, but it doesn't "block " the withdrawal like suboxone would. It will just ease up some of the symptoms. Withdrawals will still be very difficult. Talk with your doctor about OTC products like Imodium and other things that may help to make things easier. Good luck!

Yes, but you still have a rough road ahead of you, and it won't be as effective as the soboxone.
